Richmond has decided to play Graham Polak for Friday's AFL pre-season match against St Kilda in Shepparton.
Polak has not played against another AFL football since suffering a severe brain injury when he was hit by a tram in June last year.
He took part in a Tigers intra-club game last month and also impressed in a practice match against VFL affiliates Coburg.
The Tigers will rest several stars on Friday, including Ben Cousins, Chris Newman, Matthew Richardson and Kane Johnson.
