Michael Christian

Michael Christian entered AFL history as a key member of Collingwood's drought-breaking 1990 premiership team. Christian played 141 games with the Magpies in nine seasons, predominantly at centre half-back. He also represented Western Australia in six state-of-origin matches.

He's one of the most highly regarded television broadcasters in the game, acknowledged for his accurate and insightful commentary for Network Ten's AFL coverage. His knowledge and experience of the great Australian game add an extra dimension to Radio Sport 927’s football coverage in Prime Time Sports.

Christian also has a great passion for thoroughbred racing, being a managing part-owner of numerous racehorses including Roedean. He’s also completed a Diploma of Horse Studies (Breeding) at NMIT.




Angela Pippos

Angela is a self confessed sports fanatic. After more than 10 years with ABC News Victoria as Sports Journalist and Presenter, she has joined the station as breakfast co-host. Her other media accomplishments include Guest Presenter on 774 ABC Melbourne, Columnist, Feature Writer for the AFL Website and the Sunday Age and author of The Goddess Advantage – One Year in the Life of a Football Worshiper. Angela is renowned for her sporting knowledge, has a very appealing and bubbly personality and is highly articulate.

Tony Jones is the face of Melbourne sports reporting. The versatile reporter and commentator is always at the forefront of every story Victorians, and the rest of Australia, care about. Each weekday morning after the 7.00am news, sport and weather Michael and Angela are joined Tony to analyse the most topical issue in sport. They’ll interview a guest involved in the issue, speak to a high profile sports journalist or discuss it with the relevant station correspondent to gain another viewpoint. Then the lines are thrown open, inviting listeners to have their say up till the 7.30am news. It’s a hard hitting, controversial segment containing lively and controversial debate, therefore representing an excellent sponsorship opportunity.



Deane Lester

Deane Lester started his media career in 1989 with the Sporting Globe and Truth as a trackman. He's also reported on time trials and compiled form comments for the Winning Post and currently files reports for the Sportsman.

In radio, ""Deano"" has worked as a trackman, form analyst, interviewer, host and co-host on high profile Radio Sport 927 programs including Racing Extra, Correct Weight and Turf Talk.

He's been an active racehorse owner since 1987 having being involved with over 60 winners and has held a trainers licence.




Ray Warren

 

There’s no one better to report on events in the harbour city than Ray “Rabbit” Warren, the legendary Sydney sports commentator. He’s a genuine all-rounder with an outstanding knowledge of all sport. He’s particularly well known as Australia’s voice of rugby league and swimming through his broadcasting commitments with the Nine Network.



Craig Gabriel

 

Craig Gabriel regularly reports in on the major tennis tournaments throughout the world. He has been involved in tennis for well over 20 years as a former player, commentator and PR director. Craig has the respect of most of the world’s top players. The winner of several prestigious tennis media awards, his highly informative reports are always presented in his uniquely colourful and forthright style.



Ken Piesse

 

Ken Piesse is a highly respected cricket journalist, reporter and author. A former editor of the magazine Australian Cricket, Ken now writes for The Sunday Herald Sun. Ken is a well known cricket reporter on Sport 927, impressing listeners with his knowledge and passion for the game.



Andy Paschalides

 

Andy Paschalidis is a former football (soccer) player and media personality in Australia. Being a leading expert on association football in Australia, Andy has had many successful commentating stints with various TV and radio stations, most notably Fox Sports between 1995-2003, establishing himself as one of Australia's leading football broadcasters.



Tommy Smyth

 

Tommy is best known as a color commentator for ESPN, which he joined in February 1993 as a soccer analyst. He provides color commentary or in-studio analysis for most major soccer events. He also commentates on Gaelic Games, horse racing and harness racing for ESPN. Smyth is known for signing off when commentating as "Tommy Smyth... with a Y".He currently commentates regularly for ESPN International covering matches weekly for La Liga, Serie A, International matches and the FA Cup and is one of the regular panelist on ESPNSoccernet Press Pass



Ron Flatter

 

International Desk- Ron brings to The International Desk over 25 years of sports media experience in the USA, most recently managing production, sound and studio operations for ESPN’s national radio network of 450+ stations. Flatter’s also overseen and produced special projects for ESPN including the Olympics. He’s been a sports host, journalist and reporter for many well known radio stations covering all major USA sports (ie baseball, basketball and gridiron) and an accomplished journalist for various newspapers.



Mick McGuane

 

Mick initially forged his reputation as an outstanding footballer for Collingwood. He played 155 AFL matches including the historic ‘90 Grand Final. Regarded as having one of the most astute brains in AFL football, he coached Burnie and Gisborne with great success, joined Richmond in a coaching capacity before being appointed assistant coach at the Saints in 2006. He’s no stranger to media, having commentated with the Seven Network, analysed footy in various print publications and on radio. Mick’s sporting knowledge extends far beyond football, he’s a sporting fanatic with a great interest in all sports, particularly racing and cricket.
